ugh hormones hormones hormones

I had a dream and it triggered Teenage Romantic Insecurity(tm).
I will drown it out by trying to perfect my badass monster team in Dawn of the New World.
Now Wolf Heddin or Galf Beast, hm... I'm thinking Galf Beast just because Wolf Heddin is so GLASS CANNON right now.
Other team members include Ed (who will become my Ravenous, right now a lv 75 Grave Digger), Sardonyx (who will become my Blade Rex, right now lv 75 Fafnir), and then idk... either a Ruskala, Fenia, or maybe Ruby Dear. My Laliah is being useless because it's like "lol I'm gonna be melee instead of casting resurrection."

edit: I just realized this is entry #666
ruh-roh

OKAY SO MY COMPUTER IS IN FOR SERVICING AGAIN. Because the CD Drive was like "lol not working again." I don't see why jay is so adamant about things not being in him.

I just woke up from a two hour nap. It was nice.
NOW I HAVE STUFF.

A lot of these are out of order and such because of the wonderful system we had. My camera incessantly ran out of batteries, and Miki's would just die, so... we both shared Dad's camera. So I have a bunch of similar pictures taken by me and Miki, with different cameras. Anyhow, without further ado...

A lot of my pictures fall into the category of "WAVES CRASHING AGAINST ROCKS" because it's so relevant to my interests.

When I was taking this picture, the general consensus was "Wait, you're going to go back to Nevada with pictures of cactus?"

OH WASTELAND. I'LL ALWAYS LOVE YOU. YELLOWS, REDS, AND HARDY LITTLE PLANTS.

My footstep in the Green Sand Beach. I ended up not taking any sand home because the hippie in me guiltripped me.

South Point, on the Big Island! The southernmost point in the US. No one was jumping off it that day, and I was scared to do it without watching anyone first.

Sea turtles at the black sand beach. I grew an increasing fondness for sea turtles over my stay. They're so cute. ;v;

We went to the Lava Tunnel! Ooo~ooooh. It was dark and awesome in the tunnel, and then we went into a COMPLETELY UNLIT CAVE. I stumbled a lot but the cave rave at the end made it up. This is a picture from when we were exiting the dark, spooky cave.

LAVA FIELDS. If you're hungry enough, and you stare at them, they start to look like the top of a brownie. They also look like other cool stuff like folds in clothes and tree roots.

Miki put it best, this is a *~steamy~* picture. The volcanic vent underwater was being nice and active for us.

I want to live near a rainforest some day. ;_;

Waikiki Beach! We were there a lot. It was still pretty every time (even when it was 11pm and the homeless were everywhere).

Pfft.

WE FED BIRDS. I have a lot of pictures, including shots of the pigeons I named (Baldspot, Goldie, etc. Although New York Pigeon escaped my lens...). In the end, though, you get doves by my foot.

Waves crashing against rocks. And a beautiful sky. I'm pretty sure this is the day I wandered off to play on the rocks WAY FAR FROM FER AND MIKI and after darkness fell I was found and scolded.

HEY LOOK, IT'S MY SHADOW.

I really really wanted this, but now I can only think "bless whatever self control I had left." Solid chocolate fish.

Rainforesssssst. This random area was chained off, and I kind of wanted to adventure it! ... but I just took a picture.

Cute sundial at Manoa Falls... the... aborterium? Is that how it's spelled? Firefox spellcheck is not helping me. Either way it was on Spice Hill where Fer was in heaven.

CRAZY VINES. Man we did so much hiking. But it was fun.

TIME FOR MORE HIKING. But this hiking was, like, hardcore (okay only for one section I will mention next, but-)

Fucking plank! Although you could sneak though a cave connecting the two sides... but I hit my head twice when I attempted it. And risked disturbing the biggest web-bound spider I had seen with my own two eyes (I know bigger are out there but dayumn).

BUT WE FOUND SEALS! I found seals. I was on a roll that day. Then we just hung around because it was beautiful.

THEN WE FOUND CENTIPEDES and Fer made me take a picture.

Forget Disneyworld, the Dole Plantation is the happiest place on earth. I opened the car door and the smell of pineapple washed over me. Pineapple ice cream. Pineapple upsidedown cake. ;_;

CHICKENS. They were so cute, and the rooster was so COLORS and then a cat tried some shit and Momma Hen was pissed (as was Miki, don't fuck with birds!).

My god why are Hawaiian airports ten times prettier than any I've ever been in.

Finally there was a bunch of Obama merchandise. I completely understand, but I can't see any other president looking this good on a T-shirt. Would Panama have shirts with John McCain's face?

THAT'S ALL I'M UPLOADING. I've made a .rar of all the pictures, which is... 0.98 GB. I figure I'll just give these straight to Miki and Fer so next time we're on AIM. I'll still be a bit around because of the desktop but I may be on midnight curfew until Jay gets back.

INSECTS ARE HARDCORE

You think humans are tough?

1. Dragonfly Nymphs
Dragonflies are so badass, even their babies kick our asses.
You know how some frogs have only one or two legs? Some have none? Scientists thought it was the result of pollution? THINK AGAIN, YO. The frogs had deformed limbs because dragonfly nymphs were pecking them off as tadpoles! Dragonfly nymphs are so hardcore they eat tadpole's legs and then leave them to suffer in the world. Rock on.

2. Vinegaroons
I figured, in case people read my HOLY SHIT VINEGAROONS entry a while back, I would set the record straight. They look ridiculously scary. But they are harmless pseudoscorpions. They can't sting, they have very poor eye sight, but they are still certified badasses. Because, well, look at them. They spray 85% acetic acid (vinegar) from their tails. That's just cool.

3. Tarantula Hawk Wasp
This is the most badass insect I have seen in a while. Go to youtube right now and google "Tarantula hawk wasp" and watch one of those video of them dragging off a tarantula three times their size. Go on. Do it. I'll wait.
...
...
Badass, right?
The tarantula hawk wasp will sting a tarantula (with the no. 2 most painful sting in the insect world), paralyze it, and drag it back top its nest. Now, you expect it's just gonna eat it, right? Wrong. It lays its eggs inside the spider, traps the spider in the den, and leaves it. So when the eggs hatch, they eat the tarantula from the inside out.

Yeah.
Insects are so hardcore.

Hawaii pictures coming tonight.

Okay, had to get around to this eventually.

Me and my mom had a huge spat over... everything right before I left for Hawaii. I'm gonna work real hard and pull through, so I'm probably not gonna be around as much.

On that note, I'm not going to be able to DM until I get my grades up. I realize it's summer and that's impossible right now, but it's what I gotta do. Seeing as how mom wants me to stop entirely, I like my plan more. I sincerely apologize to those who were looking forward to it starting soon. I'm not gonna let the idea go, but it's gonna take time.

SO I have a question for you all.
You have these wonderful characters, these intriguing backstories, these clashing yet marvelous personalities... Do you wanna just fuck around with them, even if I'm not around?
Would you all like to just roleplay before any rollplay?

If you guys wanna play around, establish relationships, have shenanigans, I'll set everything up nice and quick before I leave Hawaii. First week or so I'll be available at almost any hour because I'll be hanging around with Fer and Miki. When I get home we'll probably have to adjust it around. I work better with late nights, but I can adjust! I'm willing to try and hold multiple sessions, since it's guild style and that might be easier for some people.

As for the real purpose of this post, this is the first JOB BOARD.
Three jobs are posted per session, and you guys vote on which you'd like to embark on! If your character doesn't like any of the jobs, pick one and their free will can be overrode by the ever-present Wesley! Voting will close a day before the session so I have time to stat it up and make it all pretty. Capiche?

HOW TO READ THE JOB BOARD:
this is the title I gave it, usually for the lulz
This is the description of the job, and what your characters canonly read.
((these are my notes, I will usually forwarn if an encounter will be more SMASH or more detectively. this is for the sake of player's who have multiple characters and don't want to waltz into the wrong kind of adventure (i.e. subtlety for an orc, when the gnome may be more fun to mess around as))

THE THREE AVAILABLE JOBS FOR THE FIRST SESSION ARE AS FOLLOWS:

Fantine's Tragedy
Prostitutes in the city are dying in their workbeds of supernatural causes. Please investigate.

X-Treme Gardening
A wizard's daughter has fallen victim to his sentient garden. Enter the garden, retrieve the girl, and burn it down before more damage is caused.

It's Gone Because You Drank It
Pirates are ransacking the shore of our neighboring country. Show them that they cannot avoid the punishment of the law.

So, go to it, guys.
Also, would you prefer for outside-mission interactions to be in our own separate community, or just sharing with the Coolparty in buttershore? After a messy corruption incident about seven years ago, the current guildmaster was instated (right over the corpse of the old one. a traditional 'crowning'). Since then he has been exposed to every stress ever. Running a guild full of rowdy adventurers requires nerves of steel and a stomach of adamantium. ... And a lot of aspirin.

The Guildmaster (no one knows his real name) stands at about 5'9", a serious-looking human, who appears to be in his fifties. In truth, he has a real name, and he's in his thirties. Leadership of the guild has that kind of effect on you. He has a shaved head, and a salt-and-peppa' goatee where white is quickly overtaking black. He's a decent size, and is rumored to be quite intimidating at times... when not swamped with paperwork, however.

Each new recruit is introduced to the Guildmaster. You've probably seen him one, maybe twice... unless you're an oldie. Or unless you cause enough damage to make him want to rip out non-existent hair. Then you are quite well acquainted with the Guildmaster.

[WESLEY ERAN]
The Second-in-Command to the Guildmaster, and resident nanny of newbies. He's a cleric in the service of Erathis, and supports the Adventurer's Guild as a means of streamlining society. He was a part of the overthrow of the previous guildmaster, and has been a member for 15 years. Currently he is 38 years old, 5'6", and in well enough shape to adventure.

His moral compass is variable, seeing as how he sides with whatever is more reasonable. He can overlook the suffering of some, so long as he is doing everything he can for the others. Because of this he often comes off as... well... a jerk. He perpetually works on projects. He's devoted his life to work, and rarely talks about his home life. Some people gossip and talk about what he must be hiding... but they do this at risk of Wesley finding out.

[ARMOND THE GREAT]
Two hundred years ago, he was one of the greats. A hero, on top of the world, wanting for nothing! He found the secret to immortality! ... and it all kind of went down after then. One of the founders of the Adventurer's Guild, Armond the Great was a grand human warlord. Now he's a perpetual fixture at HQ's bar. Drinking and drinking for a liver that will perpetually function.

He's a friendly guy, and is always willing to talk about the old days. In fact, the past is all he'll talk about. Every now and then he'll take newbies under his wing, but they rarely stay around. He's a figurehead, with no real power anymore.

The barfly warlord stands at 6'1", with long, raggedy blonde hair and a strong face. He'd be quite impressive, if he weren't humming showtunes.

[REBECCA DANCER]
More commonly known as "Becca" "Becky" or "Beckers." Rebecca is the barmaid of the HQ. Ever bright and cheery, she'll serve you and drink and listen to your troubles. She's worked at the guild since the death of her father, Marcus Dancer. She insists that's what she wants, and her attitude reflects her willingness. She also enjoys the perks of working at an Adventurer's Guild... the manly faces, and definitely bodies.

She's a master mixologist, but not too hot at anything else. A pretty face with not much in the brain. Blonde hair, blue eyes, and a rack like you wouldn't believe.

IF YOU REALLY WANNA KNOW WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE, tell me and I'll doodle something. But you can't just say "ALL OF THEM. NOW." oh, also, if you have any questions 'bout that.
Guild ghosts will come tomorrow or the next day.
So I spent the day with Ruby, and that was super-duper fun. Then it's late at night, and we're just kind of chatting with eachother in her room. At one point in the conversation she glances down at the floor and goes,

"Oh, hey Mr. Silverfish. ... ... Are you a silverfish? ... Shit!" and then instantly rolls her office chair over the thing, and is generally freaking out until she confirms the smear that was once 'Mr. Silverfish.' All the meanwhile I am giving her a panicked look from the bed. She finally explains it was a vinegaroon. Little buggers that, according to her dad, will make everything taste like vinegar for a week if they bite you.

They look a bit like malformed scorpions. Thankfully this was only a little one, and Ruby explained it was the first time in two years she had seen one. I was placated.

Then we were going to go outside and get the X-Box from her friend Dylan, so we could play Jade Empire. We went to the door, Ruby opens it, and-

"Oh god that's the biggest spider I've ever seen!"

After about thirty seconds of me flipping out, she says I can just stay in the room. I go back to the bed and try to focus on my drawing. About a minute later, Ruby comes back in, panicked.

"I found the Mamma Vinegaroon. Where's something to smash it? It's huge!" she runs out with a container of Windex. She killed it, and got the X-box, and we played for a bit but... I was tired and being in a constant state of "oh god" wasn't helping. She escorted me, Windex in hand, to my car and I drove home.

tl;dr sarah is a wimp
ruby is amazing

Okay so I'm actually planning this.

While buttershore and Miki cover the GRAND EPIC PLOTS and CONTINUOUS CHARACTER INTERACTION and general awesome. There will also be something on the side.

For if you've ever had a character concept you've wanted to try, if you want to DND but can't get a consistent day off, if you just want to dip your finger in...
Guild Campaign.

I'm gonna try DMing a small game over Summer Vacation, where all the PCs are members of an illustrious Adventurer's Guild. Missions are assigned weekly, and the best and the brightest are sent forward! Are you going to go as your sneaky warlock, your tiefling bard, or maybe pull out a human paladin because you'd like to try SMASHING THINGS? Can't make it that week? THAT'S FINE! Your character is probably off doing a more important mission, like stopping the wedding of a beautiful princess and gettin' some of that yourself.

My hope is to have a whole bunch of adventures thought up and (possibly) even statted by the time I plan to start. So the players can see a sort of... bulletin board of quests. Then the PCs vote on which quest they like to do. IF THE ONE YOU WANT isn't picked, don't worry. It'll be there the next week!

For Example:
"-Thunderin' Downunder
A storm lizard has slipped into a local gay brothel. Get in, reach around, and defeat the beast whereever it hides.
-That's Not Maple Syrup...
Report of a ill dryad have come in from the forest. Please investigate.
-CLASSIC ADVENTURE 002
The Princess is in another castle. Get her back."

... so yeah. Just. Posting to see if anyone else is interested.
